Summer is approaching - things are changing - lets doin it!...again!
Here is the summer plan for VoC: last practice at North High is June 14. Come early to watch the graduation livestream from the Blue Box. Grab your drum for the summer. we are going to hold space at the Soul of the Southside Juneteenth festival in the Coliseum Building. We finna bring all the drums up there and it will be drum circle/family reunion vibes from 12-4 on June 19. We will drum up the opening of the V3 athletic center over North on June 22. After that we are chilling for the rest of June. July 7 will be the second annual Floatilla of Negroes. More details coming soon! Doc Rahku and Hope are back on the Negro Floatilla Team. We will have one practice in July at Urban Ventures where Brotha Ase holds space every Tuesday for drum circle. If you want a weekly practice please go to that. We will have one practice in August at Urban Ventures. We will have some outdoor skating pull ups throughout the summer. We are considering attending Kankouran Dance Conference in DC - Labor Day weekend. We will support the Black Storytellers Annual Conference in September.
