Dear Us,It's gotten so dubious out here. Like J. Otis said. Let's be real careful this Juneteenth season. Like Namir said, lets watch from the hills. Let's abscond to the forest. Let's head to the lake, lie on the beach, float in the water. Last year I tried to spread my arms wide enough to gather everything, to do a big ol Kassa, keep everyone close. This year I'm actually refusing to participate, like my body said no already. I CAN'T! I mean I could, but I won't -- i'm not, i ain't! But y'all know what? Y'all know what? Y'all know what? My friend Junauda asked me if I was doing my Juneteenth Newsletter. And while it wasn't that (it was a convocation) now it is. Reminding me that this is a season to try a new adventure, gain a new skill. I hear my Dad asking me what I'm doing with my independence. I'm spreading the word(s) - I'm making the declaration.
