Moments in Mni Sota BLACK HERstory is an audio series self-produced by me, Kenna Cottman. In 2024, I researched, wrote, recorded and produced twenty-four 90-120 second audio stories in a trivia style format that asks "Which Black Minnesotan...?" and then goes on to detail the achievements and projects of a Black Woman rooted in the Twin Cities. Local production incubator Studio Arisaema also self-produced their feature for this series. Some were aired on community radio; KFAI (90.3fm) and KRSM (98.9fm). I am now aiming to expand the series by producing more stories and broadening the spectrum of Blackness and Womanhood that is represented. I'll also make this audio available to other community radio stations as well as releasing them on my own platforms.
